Chateau La Pointe
The rim is brilliant with purply tints. It is a real red fruit cocktail that explodes at the first inhalation: raspberries, strawberries, morello cherries… The fruit aromas finish on a touch of candied fruit liqueur. Then we follow through onto notes of gingerbread and pencil lead, with an aromatic precision typical of a true Pomerol. In the palate we have a creamy texture, with velvety, well-knit tannins in a good round envelope. The wine really fills the mouth, caressing the palate all through the tasting. The finish is fresh, revealing a touch of slightly mentholy raspberry cream (liqueur). The spicy notes (black pepper) bring a good length and elegance to this vintage, which should develop nicely in 3 or 4 years time and give immense pleasure for 2 decades to come.
