Haut-Médoc is the large southern section of the greater Medoc district and is home to the 'famous four' Bordeaux appellations of Margaux, Pauillac, Saint-Estephe and Saint-Julien, as well as the lesser-regarded Listrac and Moulis.
Blend:
Cabernet Sauvignon is dominant, with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec often added
Aroma:
complex, elegant, woody with red and black berries, licorice, and occasionally menthol and spice
Palate:
lively, bright, generous and powerful
Ageing:
5 to 20 years - Excellent ageing potential
