Côte de Nuits is a sub-region of Burgundy and is located in the northern half of the Cote d'Or.

It is divided up into appellations as follows, Chambolle-Musigny, Cote de Nuits-Villages, Fixin, Flagey-Echezeaux, Gevrey-Chambertin, Marsannay, Morey-Saint-Denis, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanee and Vougeot.

Some of the best red wines in the world are produced here from the Pinot Noir grape variety giving wines that are medium-bodied with aromas of red fruits and licorice.

White wines are also produced but they account for only 5% of production.
