Bodegas David Moreno
Bodegas David Moreno is situated in the village of Badarán in the La Rioja region of North Spain.
Bodegas David Moreno is known for being a family bodega that puts quality first. The wine cellar tradition dates from 1912 when Ponciano Moreno set up the first bodega with a capacity of 18,000 litres.
In 1963, the whole family moved to Barcelona in search of a better life. At the end of 1981 David Moreno, aged 33, decided to leave his job as an engineer at SEAT and put his grandfather and father’s knowledge into practise.
When he started this stage, David Moreno was helped by relatives and friends who lent him their small cellars without any financial interest involved, so that he could fulfil his dream as a wine producer.
In 1988, he decided to build the current bodega which houses 1,800,000 litres.
The cellar specialises in the cultivation of David Moreno, Monasterio de Yuso and Vobiscum reds, not forgetting its traditional making of outstanding rosé wines.
This dedication has been acknowledged by awards obtained at both national and international wine shows.
The bodega is located near the Monasteries of San Millán, World Heritage Site, making its visit a must for the cultural and oenological tourism of the area and is nowadays one of the most visited bodegas.
